Under a New Leaf

Well, as Jeff kindly pointed out, this space has been sorely neglected. Lets just say its been a “busy” couple of months. Under this new leaf, I found a new philosophy of numerous small updates, rather than get bogged down in large ones. This may reduce the “Why do I care” factor, but so be it. At least when someone stops by, there’s something new. Now the trick is to see how long it lasts....

Big News

So the big news… Ann and I got engaged on Friday, October 17th, 2003. It has been an incredibly happy time to say the least! No date has been set yet. We’re still figuring out graduate and law school stuff. =)

Flight to Europe Part 2

Yeah, Yeah, I know you’ve all been waiting with anticipation, but I got a little distracted. I’m back. Part 2 - Arriving in London When we finally touched down in London, we taxied around for a little bit, everyone assuming nothing was up. The captain then came on the intercom: “Due to an industrial incident, there’s no gate for us to use, and no one to off load the luggage from the plane, so we will be staying here for a little while… Any of you with connecting flights should speak with a BA representative as soon as you get off the plane… Because of this incident, all out going flights have also been delayed so there is a good chance you can still make your flight…”...

Flight to Europe Trip Part 1

Summary - The trip was wonderful! So much fun! So much good food! Sights!! A really great European trip. However, there were a few notable “hurdles” along the way that gave this trip more than its share of memorable stories to tack on to make it that much more memorable (in hindsight). Part 1 - Leaving the US We were scheduled to leave SFO at 4:00pm on Friday, have a short layover in London, and get into Rome at 6:00pm or so....

Last before the break

Summer is supposed to be a relaxing time, where you can do all the things you’ve been putting off because, hey! Summer is comming! Well that’s not how it works =) I’ve been swamped with interviews (which actually paid off! yay) and chores, and getting ready for vacation, and getting ready to move out to the east coast, and… Anyway, hopefully things will settle down a bit more in a month or two....

DC Interview

I’m heading to DC on Monday, and will be back on Thursday. Everyone wish me luck =) I haven’t heard from any other companies yet, so this might be one of my few chances to get a job. Ann and I have been planning our moving trip to DC, and have been disgusted with the U-Haul prices for out-of-town moves. Its nuts! But we’ve finally managed to find a work around that will allow us to get most of the stuff we want to bring out there....

Trip Cross Country

I’m just finally starting to settle down after nearly two weeks of straight driving. I first went up to DC to visit my uncle and walk around downtown. I’m really looking forward to moving out there. It really looks like a great city, and now the only hitch is finding a job (but more on that later). So, the trip cross country… Paul and I started Friday morning and got into LA late Sunday evening....

Really busy

I’m basically swamped at the moment. Graduation is this weekend and I have to pack up my room at the same time. I will then be driving to DC and then to the Bay Area next week, so I’ll definitely be incognito for at least a couple of weeks. But I’ll try to be right back up to post some of the interesting travel exploits. It would be need to have a cellular internet connection to do things while I’m driving cross country, but oh well =)...

Graduation!

Wow… so I’m finally done. No more school (at least at this point). Finals ended pretty well, with the prospect of an incredible beach weekend in Myrtle… Well Mother Nature tweaked an adjective or two, and it turned out to be overcast and windy with evening thunderstorms, and it even hailed the first night (which was pretty incredible in its own right. Watching the hail come down and then the lightning light up the ocean was really breathtaking)....

and then there was...

Yes, this is the first entry in my weblog (blog). Though I guess I’m kind of late, since “everyone must be doing this.” Well, in all likelihood, this will get very few views (and fewer comments), but hell, why not right? This will probably be “updated” more often then my main website. I’m going to try to convert that into a showcase, and make parts of it dynamic. I made a very cool JSP web service in my web programming class that allows me to query freedb (a royalty-free equivalent to cddb) and get back CD information that I can then put in a MySQL database....
