"Done the Impossible"

Done the Impossible This is why I love Firefly. This a fan-oreinted, fan-made documentary about Firefly and Serenity. It is focused on the fan base and contains interviews from the cast, crew and Joss (even Orson Scott Card, writer of the great novel “Ender’s Game”). There are two clips available now… definitely check them out. Its very professional looking, and the fans making it are donating a percentage to Joss’s favorite charity....

Sick

It has been a long while since I have been really sick… Needless to say… oh it sucks. Sick on the couch all weekend, and still not better come Monday… arg. Duke Basketball starts today… Game 1 of the preseason NIT tournament on ESPN2. This should be a great year! Solid senior player of the year candidates and extremely talented freshmen… should be lots of fun. Jeff’s site has a nice redesign....

Winter Movies

I’m really excited… there are a bunch of movies coming out in the next two months that look really good! Rent - I was a huge fan of the Broadway Production. I love the music, and I love the characters. From all the buzz, it seems like they treated it well. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - By far my favorite book of the series thus far. Very dark, very interesting plot (and twists)....

Serenity DVD

As Sim pointed out (and which I’ve been meaning to post on =) the Serenity DVD is out December 20th. Needless to say, it will be in my hands on the 20th =) I did want to comment on something though… When you look at the cover “art” for the DVD. It doesn't reflect Serenity at all! To be perfectly honest, it looks really bad! All the fans where shocked at it....

& Family Guy!

How could I forget! At least Fox had the decency to bring it back, but I mean, seriously! Who the hell is in charge there? No one willing to make an investment in quality programming, and they choose really, really crappy stuff instead! One thing that I didn’t realize is that each episode of Firefly cost roughly $2 million. Not having anything to compare it to, I would guess that’s pretty high....

Firefly & Serenity

Back in 1995 (yes I know that was a long time ago), a very good sci-fi TV show aired on Fox – Space Above and Beyond. It followed squadron of Marines in the year 2036 (or something like that), defending Earth from Alien invaders. On the surface, this seems like a very shallow, childish plot from a 60’s sci-fi short story. But what you would miss is the compelling characters and background stories that made the show fun and interesting....

It's All Gone

Shaved off. In case you are wondering I’m referring to my goatee that I had for about 6 months now. I already new that I would shave it off for the wedding. However, I must say (and Ann agrees with me) that I look about 5 years younger without it. While that will be a good thing at some point in the future, I like the look and so does Ann =)...

TGIF

I thought I’d start out Friday with a “new” image. It’s actually a rather old picture (July 2004 I believe). I took a bunch of other good ones on that shoot, so this set got lost in the background. I uploaded two others in my Gallery of the Washington Monument that I thought also turned out well. Unfortunately the Reflecting Pool was draining at the time, but I actually think it creates a rather neat effect....

San Andreas

Jeff has a good post on controversial Hot Coffee mod that has for some mind-blowing reason made its way to Washington where crass old politicians decide Hey, I'm going to look out for the children and appeal to all the other old crass voters out there that I'm taking a stand on this evil culture that is... umm.. fucking shit up? What I don’t really understand is that an R-rated movie that can show nudity, graphic sex, violence, etc (for some unknown reason length has something to do with the line between R and NC-17) with real fucking people!...

Dreamfall : The Longest Journey

Back in the summer of my sophomore year in college (2000 or 2001) while Jeff and I were working at Vialta, one lunch time we stumbled upon a review of a new game from Finland. It hadn’t yet been released in the US (I don’t think they had yet secured a US publisher). It was a rave review. Harking back to the classic puzzle & character driven adventure game that had made the Sierra classics so popular so many years ago....
