Google Chrome & Delicious

While there are a few fledgling Chrome extensions that add the standard Delicious buttons to the user interface. However, that’s not what I really need. I need the Delicious toolbar that Firefox’s plugin has so I can pull up my bookmarks with my favorite tags into the toolbar. As a stop gap, this post has a way to add a search engine. Searching pages You can use Chrome’s Omnibox to search inside your Delicious tags:...

Lifestream Graph

So I decided to try to create a graph that showed the flows of the various social networking sites that I use frequently. Lifestream Aggregator in this case refers to three things: Friendfeed, Lifestream Plugin for Wordpress (here) and Sweetcron (www.markphilpot.net).

Within Temptation - What Have You Done (Extended)

I did a music video using the extended version of Within Temptation’s “What Have You Done,” again using scenes from Twilight. Once again, WMG are bastards and have blocked the audio on Youtube so I can’t host them there, even though I thought they had reached an agreement a few months ago to start allowing their content. At some point, someone needs to clarify if amateur music videos are Fair Use (I believe so)....

Ink

I heard about Ink today from a blog post about how it had been pirated all over the torrent sites, but as a result had zoomed up the popularity charts. If you have Netflix, it’s available on Watch Instantly, and I highly, highly recommend it. Ink is an incredible independent film written by Jamin Winans and released by Double Edge Films. By far it has easily become my favorite indie film I’ve ever seen....

Eclipse 3.5 & Ubuntu 9.10

This guy just saved my sanity! If you are running Eclipse 3.5 and are noticing “funny” behavior (buttons not working, certain fields not appearing), then follow these instructions. It looks like Eclipse is doing some nasty stuff advanced hacking in SWT on GTK. This bug is fixed in 3.6M2 but you can work around the issue in Eclipse 3.5 by launching Eclipse through the following small shell script (assuming Eclipse is installed in /opt/eclipse-3....

iSuperGP

My first iPhone web application: iSuperGP. If you use supergenpass.com for your password management, iSuperGP helps you use it on your iPhone. Using HTML5 local storage, you can save your sites locally so you don’t have to retype them every time in the SGP mobile version. The application is fully offline enabled, so you can bookmark it as an application and access your passwords even when you’re disconnected. If you find anything wrong or have suggestions, the support site is @ here...

Delain - "April Rain"

I’ve been enjoying Delain’s new album “April Rain” via imeem.com. I saw the video for the single “April Rain” a while ago, but never followed up. Female fronted rock and metal bands are really starting to pick up in Europe (Delain is a Dutch band). I hope some of that will eventually translate to new US bands.

Photo selected for Schmap's SF Guide

One of my panoramas of the Golden Gate Bridge has been included in the latest edition of Schmap’s SF guide. I hope this forces me to be better about tagging my pictures, which is essentially the only way you can find things in Flickr (for obvious reasons). I’m usually not very good about remembering to go back and tag my pictures, and I definitely don’t bother with titling each and every one....

King's Mountain to Skyline

More more doable than heading up Page Mill. Unfortunately the part down 92 has no bike lane, all downhill and quite a lot of traffic. However, the drip down Skyline was amazing. Wish I brought my camera. I will have to head up there via car soon with my camera and a tripod. Unfortunately, I can’t tell how to set the default zoom in the google map below, so you’ll have to zoom out to see the entire route....
