Micro (client)

2026

The problem with all these “cross-platform” apps using SwiftUI is that inevitably the mac side is just coming along for the ride (and in many cases being dragged along kicking and screaming).

Now that I have this channel, the natural extension is really just writing my own app. I’m really never going to post on my phone (I prefer using a keyboard way to much), so I’m always stuck with the unpolished side of the equation.

Now I’m exploring Mastodon clients to act as lightweight composing apps for this blog. I’ll still use Ulysses for the larger essays, but I’m hoping this feels closer to a micro publishing platform than a heavy static blog publishing workflow.

I have a few apps I’m trying: Indigo is my app of choice on my phone, but the macOS version requires Tahoe (and I’m still refusing to upgrade). I’ve tried Ivory, Croisant, and Tusks. This post is using Tusks, and I think it might be my favorite so far.

Just a quick test of posting to the blog from a Mastodon client. Let’s see what this button does…
